EIP Water conference end report

The European Innovation Partnership on Water (EIP Water) held its second annual conference last week in Barcelona  with 400 participants from all over Europe and beyond. The event was focus on  “Connecting water innovation demand and supply”.

During the conference, the speakers discussed the role of innovation in water sector, how corporate stewardship can drive innovation and how stimulate investment. The conference also marked the launch of 3rd call for expressions to establish an EIP Water Action Group, participants tapped into the excellent networking opportunities, connected with 25 EIP Water Action Groups and exhibiting organizations and established new contacts. 
The speakers have addressed the issues from different perspectives, according to their work field. The following speakers have contributed to the debate: Marianne Wenning (Director of Quality of Life, Water & Air at the European Commission) Joan Puigdollers (Councilor for the Environment and Urban Services of Barcelona), Carmen Vela (State Secretary for Innovation in Spain), Florian Witsenburg (CEO of Tygron), Harry van Dorenmalen (IBM Europe Chairman), Jan Busstra (Netherlands Water Director), Francisco Nunes-Correia (Portuguese Water Partnership), Tomas Michel (WssTP Chairman), Wim van Vieressen (KWR Watercycle Research Institute CEO), Monica Scatasta (Head of Division, Water and Waste Management at the European Investment Bank), Paul Simpson (CDP CEO), Gernot Klotz (Cefic Executive Director for Research and Innovation), etc.
